Age requirement

NEXTPLAY is not intended for children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you confirm when you sign up that a parent or legal guardian has given you permission to use NEXTPLAY. We do not ask for a birth date, ID or a parent's email. We keep a private record of when you accepted these terms and which version you accepted; only you and the NEXTPLAY review team can see it.

What we collect

Account information you give us (name, email, role, school, class year), anything you post on The Wire, photos and video you upload, and basic technical data such as device type and pages viewed. We also publish sports information — rosters, schedules, scores and statistics — gathered from schools and published public sources.

How we use it

To run your account, show verified athlete profiles, deliver scores and statistics, moderate content, answer reports, and improve the product. We do not sell personal information.

Athletes under 18

NEXTPLAY covers high school sports, so many athletes are minors. Published sports information is limited to what schools and recognized sports outlets already make public: name, school, class year, position, jersey number, game results and statistics. We never publish home addresses, phone numbers, personal email addresses or class schedules. A parent, guardian or school official may ask us to hide a profile photo, restrict a profile, or remove an athlete from public view, and we will act on those requests.

Public sports information — rosters, schedules, scores and statistics from schools and recognized sources — may appear in the directory even if an athlete has never created an account. Claiming an athlete profile links your account to that page; it does not create, change or verify any statistics.

Parents and guardians

A parent or legal guardian can ask us to review, correct or delete the account information of a minor, or to hide a minor's photo or profile. Send the request through the privacy contact below, include the athlete's name and school, and tell us your relationship to the athlete. We may ask for reasonable confirmation before acting, and we will tell you what we changed.

Photos and video

Upload only content you own or have permission to share. Broadcast and highlight footage from third parties stays on the original host and keeps its attribution. If a photo or clip of you or your child should come down, report it and we will review it.

Who can see what

Rosters, scores, statistics and public posts are visible to anyone. Direct messages, account settings, verification documents and contact details are visible only to you and the NEXTPLAY review team.

Your choices

You can edit or delete your posts, change your profile photo, turn off comments, block accounts, or ask us to delete your account entirely. Corrections to sports data go through the report form so the change is tracked with its source.
